I did not make my own recipe for this dish. Instead, I followed the NYT's recipe by Carla Capalbo. Check it out!
What I will say is that I recommend making a dipping sauce (maybe a pesto if you want to tie it to ancient Rome) or adding some spice (turmeric or saffron would be great).
